Rocketry Club

SCCA's Rocketry club meets regularly throughout the academic year afterschool.  The purpose of the club is to encourage students to enjoy God's creation and marvel at the gifts he has given man to understand his creation through the use of the applied sciences.  There is various educational components of the club as students are taught basic aeronautics and physics as it pertains to flight, projectile motion, and other components of physics.

These concepts are taught and applied as students build their own model rockets depending on their age and experience. This club is well attended by a large portion of the academy students.  Mr. Steve Coker is the director of the club.  He has an extensive background of over 40 years as a rocketeer.  Along with Mr. Coker many parents and grandparents volunteer to assist the club.  The highlights of the club are the launches that are done on several occassions throughout the year.

BELOW IS A VIDEO OF A RECENT LAUNCH IN SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY.
The camera was built into the rocket.
